Columnist Coleen Nolan is no fan of associate professor in midwifery, Dr Denis Walsh’s, view on how mothers should give birth.

In the Mirror newspaper (16/07/09) she slates him and tells him he is speaking codswallop – and Coleen maintains she is been polite at that!

What pained Coleen so much was the good doctors assertion that women need to ‘work with the pain’ of childbirth.

The columnist told the doctor in no uncertain terms that when he had passed a bowling ball out of himself he could come back to her with his opinions on giving birth! Until then she told him to shut it!
