Boy Cured Of Permanent Hangover

Reuben Grainger-Mead was born with a blood disorder that attacked his immune system, leaving him weak and barely able to talk. At the age of two his growth was stunted and his heart was beating three or four times quicker than normal.

His medical condition was so rare that doctors could not even give it a name.

Baffled by the mystery illness doctors likened it to a ‘permanent hangover’ but eventually concluded that there was nothing they could do. But despite the devastating news his parents refused to give up and now thanks to a nutritional consultant the eight year old is at last leading a normal childhood. He no longer needs a monthly blood transfusion and is able to play out with his friends like any other boy his age.

Every month Reuben needed a blood transfusion to increase his red blood cell count, which would mean constant care throughout his whole life and so much time spent in hospital. If all else failed the last resort would then have been a bone marrow transplant, which doctors said he may not have survived because he was so ill.

Michelle Grainger-Mead, and his wife, turned to the internet for alternative therapies, considering acupuncture and Oriental  therapy, before turning to nutritional consultant Diana Wright. Diana discovered Reuben lacked certain vital amino acids and proteins in his body and so put him on a course of dietary supplements which were mixed into his food and drink.

After years of being too weak to play with friends, Reuben is now well enough to rough it with his friends. He can finally get on with his childhood. In the process his new lease of life could provide a breakthrough for cancer sufferers.

The astonishing success of Reuben’s treatment has prompted doctors to plan a study to see if similar therapy works on other ill children and adults.
